The fiery palmatum with both three and five lobed leaves

Beni Maiko is a stunning dwarf Maple, perfect for smaller gardens or placed on a patio in a container.

This acer produces especially vibrant fire-red leaves in early spring. As they mature, the fiery red changes to a pinkish-red with green undertones whilst the main veins remain red. The leaves begin to appear lighter and more feathery in texture as the year wears on and in autumn, leaves turn a deep pinkish-red which spreads to the centre, lighting the whole leaf up.

The truly unique combination of three-lobed and five-lobed leaves makes Beni Maiko one of the most sought after Acers back in Japan and over here, led to its award of the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 2012.. Eventual height after 10 years 1.2m. Spread 1.5m. 13cm pot grown plants supplied.

The tree is ideal as a feature piece for smaller gardens or could be placed in a large container for patios.
